Addya has used only the highest-quality high-carbon steel in our hooks since day one. The steel has a consistent microstructure, custom-made for optimum elasticity and tensile strength — strong enough to hold your catch, springy enough not to fail you.
Our 15,000 sq ft unit near Mumbai is ISO 9001:2000 certified by BVQI, UK, producing up to 10 million hooks a month for anglers and dealers worldwide. Fish an Addya hook, and you fish eight decades of craft.

Three Generations
Our history
1943
A tackle store in Calcutta
Suresh Addya opened a small fishing tackle store to serve anglers braving the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal and the Ganges — growing it into a respected importer, distributor and retailer.
1983
We start making our own hooks
The family opened its own hook factory, S.C. Addya Engg Co. Pvt. Ltd., in Mumbai — forging high-carbon steel hooks on automated Japanese machines, chemically sharpened to a needle point.
1999
Going global
We began worldwide distribution of our saltwater and freshwater hooks through Private Label & OEM, reaching customers across Asia, Africa, the Americas and beyond.
2003
ISO 9001:2000 certified
Awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification by BVQI, UK — at the time, the only factory in South Asia and the Middle East to earn the recognition.
2008
Addya Outdoors Inc., USA
Founded in New York City by Debraj (Dave) Addya, grandson of Suresh, to deliver custom-made terminal tackle to innovative anglers on a turnkey basis.
