Make the most of the season: a quick tackle checklist
A new season means more time fishing and less time fumbling on the dock. Run through this quick tackle checklist before the bite turns on.

A new season is the perfect reason to get your gear in order before the bite turns on. A little preparation now means more time fishing and less time fumbling on the dock. Here's a simple checklist.
- Inspect your hooks. Toss anything bent, dull or rusty, and restock the sizes you fish most — sharp hooks are the cheapest upgrade in fishing.
- Match your hooks to the season's target species: freshwater for the spring and summer panfish and bass bite, saltwater and big game as the runs move in.
- Re-spool with fresh line and check your leaders and knots for nicks and wear.
- Organize your tackle box by technique so the right hook is always within reach.
- Stock a few value packs of your go-to patterns — circle, octopus, bait-holder and treble — so you're never caught short.
Need to restock? Browse the Addya Outdoors store for freshwater, saltwater and big game hooks, or reach out and we'll help you build the perfect setup for the season ahead. Tight lines!
